ETS awarded one of Southeast Asia’s largest Water Disinfection Projects located at Singapore’s Johor River Water Works

In September of 2021, Electrolytic Technologies Systems (ETS) was awarded one of the largest water disinfection projects in Asia at the Johor River Water Works. The Johor Water Works is the largest water works in Malaysia and one of Singapore’s most important sources of fresh drinking water.

The scope of supply includes 10 KlorigenTM B-Series Systems, each producing over 1,000kgs of sodium hypochlorite per day for a total production capacity of over 10,000 kg/day.

As part of the contractual obligation for the Johor River Water Works Project, the KlorigenTM systems are required to meet specific performance and efficiency targets during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance tests (SAT). Upon its completion in May 2022, ETS’ first unit underwent FAT and independent laboratory results determined that the KlorigenTM B-Series, a brine-based system, not only met but exceeded the stringent requirements set out in the terms of the contract including no Inorganic Oxyhalides like Chlorate, Perchlorate or Bromate produced as a by-product of the process.

Based on the impressive results during the FAT and having met the testing criteria, ETS will move forward with the contract to provide on-site sodium hypochlorite generation systems with a total production capacity of over 10,000kg/day for the Johor River Water Works. The project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.

“The award of the PUB Johor River Water Works project further expands Electrolytic Technologies Systems’ presence in the Southeast Asia region and we are excited by the outstanding performance results achieved during the three days of rigorous performance testing and verification. Given the current supply chain challenges that all manufacturers are facing, our team was able the meet the demanding schedule placed on us by the client and delivered a top-quality product that we are extremely proud of,” said  Derek Lubie, CEO of Electrolytic Technologies Systems.
